Just a quick 10-1/2 miles southeast of Prairie City, traveling on County Road 62 (Summit Prairie Rd), turning left onto Green Haven Rd. Following our "Smiling Suns", you will enter a world of calm and beauty and be propelled into the magical world of Pine Shadows Getaway, "the perfect place to be carefree".
THE CASADAY - 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds, nice couch. This is the historical log cabin. It has no dishwasher. 1 bathroom. $185 per night. $50 cleaning deposit. Occupancy, 4. 2 Night Minimum Stay. Reservations required. Open May 1st to October 1at.
Under the old growth Pines and Firs, sitting in a poetic landscape, are our three cozy Cabins. The minute you open the door, they wrap their arms around you with their warmth and all the comforts of home you can possibly imagine. Each cabin has a pristine Artisan well water to wet your whistle and cleanse your bodies. They are 5 star plus!! As one of our patrons said, "This belongs in Country Living magazine". A heartfelt compliment to us.
We are at the headwaters of the pristine John Day River. We are in the heart of summer and winter recreation. Terry and Joyce are here to greet you with a smile, handshake, and a wealth of information on the area. We are a gated property for the ultimate privacy.
We welcome the tourist, backpacker, fisherman, fisherwoman, cyclist, bikers, photographers, wildflower lovers, bird watchers and everyone else wanting to enjoy the quiet and beauty of nature. This is truly the perfect vacation getaway for you!!
THE BENSON - 1 king bed, and a very comfortable couch that can be used for a bed. 1 bathroom. $155 per night. $50 cleaning deposit. Double occcupancy. 2 Night Minimum Stay. Reservations required.
Cruise the scenic highway to beautiful Logan Valley. Walk the many trails of the lake basins of the Strawberry Mountain Range and picnic on the banks of clear Summit Creek. Fish/Fly fish the lakes of Strawberry Mountain; Magone Lake or the Malheur and Little Malheur Rivers. The fishing of the lakes, rivers and streams are bountiful.
Picnic along the river on our nature walk and view the majestic mountain tops. Picnic tables are provided for you. We are the perfect "can't get any better than this" place for your family and friends to gather. There is no hurrying at Pine Shadows Getaway. It is the perfect quiet.
Inhale the clear mountain air while you take in the colors of our wildflowers and feathered friends.
Play a rousing game of horseshoes, badminton or a calculating fun game of croquet! Dangle your toes in our meandering brook while enjoying a cool one. Listen to the preaching of our pines and the songbirds singing their melodies. You can see wildlife promenading across the lush green lawns. A community organic garden will be ready to harvest in July, August, and September, depending on the weather.
THE TERRYWELL - 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, comfortable couch.
This little piece of paradise in the wilderness came together in the hard times of 1929-1931. The cabins were built by 3 close friends. These friends had a great love of the outdoors, and the Blue Mountains. The cabins are beautifully decorated in new and vintage decor. They have all been recently updated. Complimentary coffee, tea, pastry or homemade breads are available in each cabin.

THE LITTLE BENSON - Spare cabin by our brook with two twin beds, coffee maker, TV for DVD's only. No bathroom or running water. It has a small porch, too. Great for children or extra friends. They love it! $45 a night. $20 dollar cleaning deposit. Occupancy, 2.
Each cabin has either tile or wood floors. Glowing electric fireplaces add to each cabin's charm. The kitchens are fully equipped with coffee makers and grinders for beans, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, dishes and utensils, pots and pans, and even seasonings. All cabins have comfortable dining areas.
A small library of vintage books is in each cabin. The cabins have charming covered porches with lounge furniture and barbecues. Each cabin has its own outside fire ring for you to roast your hot dogs, hamburgers or steaks on. We provide the wood! Each cabin has privacy from each other. A community washer and dryer are available for guests.
NOTE:Our cabins are family oriented and we are sorry that we do not have facilities for hunters.
